RELATIVE CONTENT OF OSTEOGENIC STEM CELLS IN THE BONE MARROW OF LONG TUBULAR BONES OF DOGS DURING THE PROCESS OF TIBIA LENGTHENING1977
There is evidence in the literature (Khantov R. M., 1972; Petrov R. V., Man’ko V. M., 1972; Gorizontov P. D., 1976) that the impact of extreme factors on the body led to the exchange of hematopoietic stem cells between different areas and organs of the hematopoietic system. For example, during lethal irradiation, stem cells repopulated from shielded areas of the bone marrow into hematopoietic tissues, restoring hematopoiesis. It is possible that in response to bone trauma, which is an extreme impact, the bone marrow also reacted as an integral system, and not only certain cells of the bone marrow of this limb took part in the regeneration of tissues of the operated leg of dogs (Rizvash S. I., 1937; Courtiere B., 1975), but also stem elements of the bone marrow tissue of the entire organism. Based on the above, the obtained dynamics of IVF can be explained by the fact that the progenitor cells from intact bones repopulated through the blood into the operated bone. It is possible that such a redistribution of stem cells was carried out by the influence of specific humoral factors. under
It remains unknown whether osteogenic cells are among the possible derivatives of the hematopoietic stem cell or whether they represent a cell line that is genetically independent. The similarity of the mechanisms of repopulation of hematopoietic and osteogenic stem cells suggests the existence of a common pluripotent cell, the direction of differentiation of which is determined by the concentration of a specific inducer in the body.
Further studies of the mechanisms of differentiation of bone marrow stem elements during long-term distraction will allow us to come closer to clarifying the osteogenic reserves of the bone marrow.
