Acupuncture

We can see that acupuncture is always the center of medicine. There is always just one medicine – human medicine. Acupuncture is always at the center. As a practitioner of human medicine is to promote and restore health of our friends and patients.
Acupuncture indications: according to Huang Di Nei Jing there are three main very important functions:
1.Determine life and death
2.Regulate deficiency and excess
3.Treat or cure “100 diseases” i.e. many diseases.

Ling Shu: “Whoever says a disease is incurable is only because he has not mastered the skills.”

Most people think that it is only good for chronic conditions but it’s real value is in acute and severe conditions
It has fast effect, no side effects and does more than just mask the symptoms. It’s very convenient, you are not limited by the environment – just keep some needles in your pocket.

When we insert needles, it creates immediate changes, such as hormonal changes. Whereas, medicines need to be orally digested or injected into the circulatory system and some cannot pass the Blood Brain Barrier. This is not the case with acupuncture. Acupuncture has multiple effects as well. If you just take pain meds – it will stop the pain but it doesn’t act to heal the cause of the pain. Acupuncture reduces inflammation and stops pain at the same time. There is a close connection between the meridians and our endocrine system. all the meridians pass through the endocrine system or are related to it.

In Western medicine, the most common approach is to use antibiotics for infections. Last resort is to use steroids. Acupuncture activates the body’s own defenses and causes it to produce it’s own steroids. It’s very important to remember acupuncture is used to activate the body’s own healing ability and to make use of the body’s own resources.

Also, the treatment is working on the emotional aspect as well. We want to regulate the patient’s emotions as well as treat their physical condition. Our emotions are affected by our physical condition and vice-versa.
“Shen” – spirit, vitality, mind.
“Xing” body. These word appear everywhere in the Nei Jing.
The needles that are used are very small and acupuncture is very, very safe. Much smaller than injection needles.

This is why acupuncture is always the first choice for treatment. It is very quick, no side effects and can be used to treat many, many things. There is no differentiation between Western and Chinese medicine – only one human medicine.
To maintain health – the core is self-healing. Do things to promote your own health. If you get sick then you must find the treatments which are safest and least invasive (such as acupuncture). If that doesn’t work, you may need to rely on medicines, so start with safest and least invasive such as herbal medicine. If not working, must advance to more invasive approaches.
